Plant to Plate - Week 8: July 27-31 (Ages 10-12)
Campers dive deeper into plant science and culinary arts by exploring heirloom and exotic salsa ingredients. Daily activities include garden care, taste testing, and cooking dishes inspired by Latin American, African, and European cultures. Emphasis is placed on understanding nutrition and sustainable food practices. By the end of the week, campers prepare a multicultural salsa feast to share with family and friends.
Plant to Plate - Week 8: July 27-31 (Ages 6-9)
This week focuses on Mediterranean flavors as campers continue caring for their salsa garden and harvest fresh produce. Kids will learn about olive oil, fresh herbs, and simple cooking techniques to create dishes like bruschetta and fresh salads. Hands-on lessons include plant identification, garden maintenance, and cultural stories behind each recipe, fostering curiosity and global awareness.
Smarty Plants (4-day camp) - Week 8: July 27-31 (Ages 10-12)
This session focuses on photosynthesis and plant energy. Campers conduct experiments to observe how light affects plant growth and create colorful chlorophyll art. Garden activities include measuring plant height and recording observations. Each participant will assemble a terrarium to bring home, fostering ongoing curiosity about plant science.
Smarty Plants (4-day camp) - Week 8: July 27-31 (Ages 6-9)
This week focuses on plant growth and adaptation. Campers will conduct experiments to observe seed germination and root development, create plant-inspired art, and explore the garden to see how plants adapt to different environments. Each camper will design and plant a succulent garden to take home and care for.
